You can connect The Night Sky to Claude or ChatGPT and design a custom star map without leaving the conversation. Describe the moment, see a preview of your actual design, get the price in your own currency, and finish checkout securely on our website.
Connect in Claude
Open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Paste this address and confirm:
https://mcp.thenightsky.com/mcpA permission screen appears once. There is no account to create and no password to enter.
Connect in ChatGPT
This needs a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) on the web, with developer mode switched on.
Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
Go to Plugins and select the + button to create a developer mode app for a remote MCP server.
Paste this address and keep the default OAuth settings:
https://mcp.thenightsky.com/mcpStart a new chat and switch the plugin on from the tools menu.
What to ask for
Once connected, just describe what you want. For example:
"Design a star map of the night my daughter was born, 4 March 2019 in Cork."
"Show me the sky over Lisbon on the night we met, in the glow in the dark style."
"What sizes and frames do you do, and what would that cost in euro?"
"Add it to my cart and send me the checkout link."
What the assistant can do
Search our range of star map prints, solar system prints and engraved jewellery.
List the design options for a product, including sizes, finishes and themes.
Quote a live price in your local currency.
Show a preview image of your design before you buy. Previews are watermarked and low resolution. The print you receive is full resolution with no watermark.
Build your cart and give you a checkout link.
Look up the status of an order you placed this way.
What the assistant cannot do
It can never take a payment. Checkout always finishes on www.thenightsky.com in your own browser. Your card details never pass through the chat, and we never ask for them there.
The assistant can create an unpaid order so your details are ready at checkout, but nothing is charged until you complete payment yourself on our website.
A note on previews
Design previews are available for star map prints and solar system prints. Previews for engraved jewellery are not available in chat yet, so the assistant will show you the product photography and describe your engraving instead.
Checking an order
To look up an order, the assistant needs both the order reference and the customer reference it gave you when the order was created. Both are required, so that nobody else can look up your order. If you have lost them, your confirmation email and our support team can help.
Your information
We receive only what is needed to build your design, price it and create your order, such as the date and place you choose, your delivery address and your email. We do not receive your chat history. Our full privacy policy explains how we handle it.
If something goes wrong
If the connector will not add, check the address is exactly

If previews stop loading, wait a moment and ask again. Previews are rate limited to keep them quick for everyone.
